Email Threading Report
The email threading summary shows the "headline", 3.20% Email Reduction, and other summary information for this Email Threading algorithm set run.
<ALGORITHM NAME> (SET ID #) |
The algorithm name and system-generated, unique set ID for this set's algorithm run |
EMAIL REDUCTION |
Shows the percentage of emails that can be excluded from the review because they contain Non Unique parent emails. This number is computed using a percentage of non-unique emails (i.e., copies) over total emails. |
AVERAGE THREAD SIZE |
The average number of messages in a thread |
THREAD GROUP COUNT | This is the number of distinct threads, email conversations, or chains. |

SCOPE SUMMARY |
Analyzed—shows the number of emails and number of attachments that were threaded in this run Ignored/Exceptions—gives both the total documents and a breakdown of the types of documents that were not threaded but ignored or excepted in this run |
UNIQUE RESULTS: DOCUMENT COUNTS
|
Shows the percentage reduction due to and how many unique documents. A long thread branch may contain the same content. These document sections are counted once. This section has a breakdown of unique, non-unique, and Ignored/exceptions and lists the total documents and lists the total reduction, the parent email reduction, and the attachment reduction. |
UNIQUE RESULTS: INCLUSIVE REASONS |
Lists the reasons a document was inclusive with the number of documents for each reason. See the Email Threading Terminology article for a discussion above for the list of reasons. Generally, the biggest groups are last in time or attachments. |
THREAD COUNT SUMMARY |
This is the count of messages that occur within a thread group. If someone emails a person and they reply, this is a two-person thread group and falls into the small thread group. If the people go back and forth 20 times that fall under the large thread group. Single email thread groups are non-reciprocated (no reply) thread groups. Someone emails and the recipient doesn't respond possibly because it is a workplace broadcast email. |
OTHER THREAD CHARACTERISTICS |
This table represents a variety of statistics including: Total inclusives—the number of unique docs Total duplicate spares—a person emails another person creating a copy in both the sender's Sent box and a copy is in the other person's email Inbox box. These two, for the purposes of this count, are considered the same message and will get duped out. Action Forward—this message was a Forward Action Reply—whether a message was a Reply Action Reply All—whether the message was a Reply All |
AVERAGE GROUP SIZE |
The average is computed by adding up the size of all the emails and attachments and then dividing by the number of threads found. |
Email Thread Viewer
After emails are threaded and the results are overlaid into Relativity, use the Thread Viewer to add field tags and communication markers on documents to see differences in responsiveness or privilege quickly.
