Privilege Log Status and Available Actions
IN THIS ARTICLE
On the LHA Privilege Logs page, each row has a three-dot menu that changes depending on the STATUS of the log. This same menu is accessible via the "Manage Log" button on a specific privilege log's page. Each status has different menu options allowing for different actions to be taken on the logs.
WHO CAN PERFORM
Only users with the appropriate permissions to Create and Manage Privilege Logs will see all options in the menu. Users with view-only access will have limited options, such as exporting logs.
Menu Options by Status
Whether you access the menu from the Privilege Log List page(via the three-dot menu) or from the "Manage Log" button on the Privilege Log content page, the list of menu options depends on whether the log’s status is Open, Finalized, or other exception statuses. Below is a breakdown of the available options based on each status.
Open Status
When the log has an Open status, the following actions are available:
Sync Search Population:
This option syncs the log with the saved search population. It incorporates any updates made to the saved search in Relativity, such as adding or removing documents, and reflects those changes in the privilege log.
Export to XLS:
Exports the privilege log as an Excel™ file. Even if the multi-field or summary cards toggles were active within the log, these will be turned off in the exported file. Groupings and hidden rows will not be preserved, and filters are not applied.
Save as Template:
This option opens a modal window allowing you to save the privilege log's configuration (including column selections, sorting, grouping, and toggles) as a template. You can later apply this template when creating or editing another privilege log.
Update Log Settings:
This allows you to edit the Log Name, Saved Search, Log Abbreviation, and the template used for this privilege log. All of these can be updated as long as the log remains open.
Delete Log:
Permanently deletes the log. The system will prompt for confirmation with a warning message: "Are you sure you want to permanently delete this Privilege Log?"
Finalize Log:
Finalizes the log, making it read-only. Once finalized, the log cannot be updated, except for the log name. See the Finalize Log article for more details.
Finalized Status
Once a log is finalized, some options will change as the log becomes read-only:
Export to XLS:
This remains the same as in the Open status.
Save as Template:
This remains the same as in the Open status.
Update Log Settings:
After finalization, only the Log Name can be edited. Other fields like Saved Search, Log Abbreviation, and the Template are visible but cannot be updated.
Delete Log:
This remains the same as in the Open status.
Exception Statuses
There are additional statuses where the log may encounter an error, such as during population sync or finalization. These statuses include Syncing Population and Sync Exception. In these cases, users may have access to additional menu options.
Syncing Population Status
While syncing the search population, you will see this status. You can still view the log, but certain actions are disabled until the sync is complete. Once the sync is finished, the status will revert to Open.
Sync Exception Status
If the log encounters an issue during the sync process, it will display this status. You can resolve the issue with the following menu options:
Re-Queue:
Attempts to resolve the sync exception by resubmitting the log for population syncing.
Cancel Sync:
Cancels the syncing process and returns the log to Open status without syncing changes from the saved search.
