Viewing and Managing Privilege Log Contents

IN THIS ARTICLE

The Privilege Log page allows you to view and interact with the contents of a Privilege Log. This page includes document metadata, custom columns, and various controls for adjusting the layout and formatting of the displayed information. The default fields on the page, such as REVIEWID, ParentDate, and Author, provide key details about each document in the log. You can create and manage custom combined columns, control how multi-value fields are displayed, and refresh the log to sync changes from Relativity.

WHO CAN PERFORM

Only users with the appropriate permissions can view and manage Privilege Logs. Users must have the Create and Manage Privilege Logs permission to create custom columns, sync search populations, and finalize logs. See the Permissions article for more details.

Navigate to Privilege Log Contents

To view the contents of a Privilege Log, click on the Log Name from the Privilege Log List page. This will open a detailed view of the log, displaying the metadata and custom fields for each document in the log.

Actions in an Open Privilege Log

When you open a privilege log, several options are available for managing the content. These include:

  • Refresh: Clicking the refresh icon updates the log with any changes made to the Relativity saved search or the Relativity fields used in the log. You can also refresh by closing and reopening the log.
  • Expand Multi-Value Fields: This toggle allows you to expand and collapse the values in Multi-Choice and Multi-Object fields. When "On" (default), each value is displayed on a separate line. When "Off," values are condensed into a single line, separated by semi-colons.
  • Enable Summary Cards: When "On," this toggle displays color-coded pills for names in the name normalization fields, allowing quick identification of participants. Toggling it "Off" converts these names into active links, which can be clicked to open the participant's profile page.

Default Fields on the Privilege Log Page

When you open a Privilege Log, the following default fields are displayed:

  • Row ID: A unique identifier for each row in the log.
  • Priv Doc Icon: Represents the document type (e.g., email, attachment).
  • REVIEWID: The Relativity identifier for each document.
  • ParentDate: Displays the date of the parent document in a thread.
  • MA Normalized From::Full Name: Displays the sender’s full name.
  • MA Normalized Recipients::Full Name: Displays the full name of the email recipients.
  • MA Normalized Email Participants (All)::Full Name: Lists all participants involved in the email.
  • Author: Shows the author or creator of the document.

Custom Fields and Combined Columns

On the Privilege Log page, you can create custom fields to tailor the log to your needs. A common use case is creating a combined column for the Privilege Description, which can pull together multiple fields into a single entry. Custom fields, including combined columns, are displayed in a lighter color to distinguish them from default fields. For more information on how to create and manage combined columns, see the Create Combined Column article.
